  • Chippewa City Church 1382 Minnesota 61 Grand Marais, MN, 55604 United States (map)

Join the Cook County Historical Society for a presentation at the Chippewa City Church from local author Staci Drouillard titled, They Had a Big Feast: Chippewa City and Ojibwe Food Knowledge at the Turn of the 20th Century. Staci will share stories from her book Walking the Old Road and other related texts regarding community foodways and the influence of Ojibwe culture on the foods we still eat and enjoy today. The event will take place on July 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to sample various pies and are encouraged, but not required, to bring a pie to share.

Drouillard is a Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe direct descendant, and an award-winning author of Walking the Old Road and Seven Aunts, both of which are available at the Cook County History Museum or online. Her first children's book, A Family Tree, is available at Drury Lane Books.
