The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery is thrilled to announce the next gallery exhibit, "Wonders of the North Shore & More," featuring work by Grand Marais Photographer David Johnson, on December 5th - December 28.

Johnson, a fourth-generation resident of Grand Marais, MN, will share photography documenting night skies, local landscapes, and wildlife.

These images were captured over a period of several years along the North Shore of Lake Superior and within Cook County.

The timing of the exhibit opening is designed to coincide with Visit Cook County's annual Dark Sky Festival, scheduled to take place from December 11 to 13, 2025. Cook County is home to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW), which holds the designation as the world's largest certified International Dark Sky Sanctuary.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, December 5, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at JHP. The exhibit will run through December 28.
