November 2026 Local Artist of the Month: David Johnson
A fourth-generation resident of Grand Marais, Minnesota, photographer David Johnson brings connection to the North Shore through his work. Johnson shared that growing up exploring the forests, lakes, and streams across Cook County provided a deep familiarity with the region that grounds his work.
Following his solo exhibition in December 2025, "Wonders of the North Shore & More," held at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery, his photography continues to document quiet local landscapes, native wildlife, and dark night skies.
