Jim Shinners & Stephen Daniel will be giving a presentation on the North Shore’s dramatic maritime history during Storm Festival Weekend. Join us at the JHP Art Gallery Saturday, November 10 in downtown Grand Marais to hear about all of the ships that Lake Superior has claimed.

There will be opportunity from 3-4 pm to chat with Briand about his father’s work.

Join us for a live performance of Musical Impressions: The Art of George Morrison at the Johnson Heritage Post, Grand Marais MN on Saturday, October 13, 2pm in conjunction with the opening weekend of George Morrison | Surrealist Forms and Other Drawings. Briand Morrison, a well-known artist in the music world, pairs his father George Morrison's (1919-2000) work with his own musical compositions for an original event that will please both visual art and music lovers alike.

Musical Impressions: The Art of George Morrison is a blu-ray disc produced by Briand Morrison consisting of 128 images of George Morrison’s work from the 1940s through 2000. The accompanying sound track consists of twelve original jazz compositions composed and performed by Briand Morrison. Some of these images have never been shown to the public.

The JHP Art Gallery will be filled with 300 paintings created during a week long competition. All of the artworks will be available for purchase. Stop in to see all of their creations which have been painted inside Cook County. 

Gallery Hours: Monday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm Sunday 1 - 4 pm CLOSED ON TUESDAYS!
