The Passport Into the Past program is an exciting and interactive historical education program for Elementary School children. With the help of Minnesota Legacy funding, the Cook County Historical Society updated the program adding a website, videos, and other media geared toward engaging children with their local history. The Passport booklet that accompanies the program is a page by page tour of 19 sites that are significant to Cook County's rich past. Students and children are encouraged to visit the all the sites and earn stickers to add to their booklets. Upon completion of the program, schools and/or parents can print a Junior Historian Award from the site. Graduates from the program can also receive a wonderful prize at the end of the journey.
