Quilt Show
November 20th through January 3rd

About the Show:

Two local quilt groups, along with others not in either group, will be involved in the exhibit. The Pincushion Quilters were formed in 2002 and meet on the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:00am at Crystal's Log Cabin Quilts. Anyone is welcome to join. There are quilters at all skill levels and with a wide variety of quilting interests. This group has participated in the Cook County Fair and making the raffle quilt for the play Quilters. The group members have made quilts for the Quilts of Valor project for wounded vets and for Project Linus for kids in hospitals and shelters.

The Sawtooth Mountain Quilters began in 1994. In the early years this group got together to share their hobby, carrying sewing machines to members' homes to work on their projects.  This has changed over the years and now most meetings are just to get together to share friendship and to bring competed projects for "show and tell." The meetings are on the first and third Wednesday with the time and location subject to change. The group gives a "fire quilt" to those who have lost homes to fire. In 2009 members each made quilts for Project Linus, which were donated to children who are ill or in other need of comfort.

The gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Other times can be arranged for special groups by calling 387-2314. The Johnson Heritage Post is always interested in group exhibits during the holiday season. Any group interested can please call 388-0575.
